About 350,000 people in Ethiopia's northern Tigray region are living in famine conditions, according to a U.N. document cited by Reuters.
The internal U.N. document dated June 7 says that "350,000 people across Tigray [are] believed to be in IPC 5 famine conditions."
The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) grades food security on a five-point scale, with five being the most severe and indicating an ongoing famine.
