U.N. Reduces Staff In Mogadishu After Mortar Attack

The United Nations is temporarily reducing its staff in Somalia, reports Radio Dalsan (Mogadishu).
The U.N. officials have decided to limit staffing in Mogadishu for the immediate future as a precautionary measure following the mortar attack on the U.N. compound on Jan. 1, said a release from the U.N. Support Office in Somalia.
“The measure applies only to personnel assigned to Mogadishu and not to those in duty station in the sectors and regions,” the release said.
