The U.N. Security Council has agreed to remove the names of certain Taliban leaders from its blacklist, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.
The names of those Taliban figures that have no connections with Al-Qaida and other terrorist groups will be gradually removed from the list, according to an Afghan government release.
A Security Council delegation met with Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Tuesday to discuss the move as well as national reconciliation programs.
