U.N. Peacekeeping Mission, In Place Since 1964, Gets Another 6 Months

The Security Council has again renewed the mandate for the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Cyprus (UNFICYP), reports the U.N. News Service.

The council called on Greek and Turkish Cypriot leaders to implement confidence-building measures, including the opening of additional crossing points that could help lead to an eventual settlement.
