Kenya will host a rapid-response engineering unit for United Nations peacekeeping missions, reports Capital FM (Kenya).
The unit will increase the capacity of African countries contributing troops to U.N. missions, Houston Fergusson, the U.N. director of operational support services, said on Wednesday.
The U.N. Engineering Unit will fill a vital gap in the world body's peacekeeping capabilities, said Fergusson during a meeting with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta in Nairobi. ...
