An advance team of United Nations observers is in Syria to monitor a shaky truce, reports the Voice of America News.
On Monday, government forces were continuing to shell rebel positions in Homs, opposition activists said. Clashes were also reported in Hama.
The first U.N. personnel, led by Moroccan Col. Ahmed Himmiche, arrived in Damascus just hours before, said officials.
