U.N. Mandate Extension Pushed By President Of Uganda

President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda says the transitional government in Somalia needs another year to consolidate what gains it has made against militants, reports BBC News.

The current mandate for the United Nations-backed mission is due to expire on August 20 and the U.N. has been pressing for quick elections in Somalia.
