A top official says the U.S. government may seek a Chapter VII resolution at the U.N. Security Council that would authorize the use of force in Syria, reports United Press International.
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner said the government was leaning towards such a resolution if the current peace plan proves ineffective.
Geithner made his remarks Wednesday during a Friends of Syria working group in Washington. More than 50 countries attended the meeting.
