The U.N. Security Council has voted to end its peacekeeping mission in Chad and the Central African Republic (MINURCAT) by the end of the year, reports the U.N. News Service.
The Chadian government has sought the removal of the force, despite concerns by the U.N. that the withdrawal could hinder aid to some 430,000 refugees in the region.
