U.N Extends Mandate For Peacekeeping Mission For Another Year

The U.N. Security Council has voted to maintain the peacekeeping mission in Mali despite concerns about the military government, reports Radio France Internationale.
On Wednesday, the council decided in favor of a French-drafted resolution to extend the U.N. Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSM) until June 30, 2023.
The approval maintains the mission at its current authorized strength of 13,280 military personnel and 1,920 international police.
