U.N. Drops 45 Taliban, Al-Qaida Members From Blacklist

A U.N. panel has removed 45 names from its Taliban and Al-Qaida blacklist, Pakistan's Dawn reports.
Sanctions were lifted from 10 individuals linked to the Taliban, as well as 14 people and 21 entities connected to Al-Qaida, officials said.
Individuals on the list, which had 488 on it before the change, are subject to asset freezes, a travel ban and an arms embargo.
The list review was prompted by requests from governments, a senior U.N. official said.
