A United Nations agency has donated a variety of equipment to the maritime wing of the Sierra Leone police, reports the Concord Times (Freetown).
Late last week, the the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime handed over a patrol boat, two vehicles and life-saving equipment that are all expected to enhance the capacities of the police.
The gear is also intended to support Sierra Leone's transitional organized-crime unit.
