Forces loyal to the internationally-recognized Libyan government have pushed back troops led by Khalifa Haftar southwest of the capital, Tripoli, reports Reuters.
On Tuesday, fighters from Haftar's Libyan National Army (LNA) were pushed out of the town of Aziziya, 37 miles (60 km) southwest of Tripoli.
The LNA continues to hold its forward base in Gharyan, also south of Tripoli.
Fighting still continued in the southern suburbs of Tripoli, witnesses said.
