Part of a Ukrainian air defense missile has crashed in Moldova, reports the War Zone website.
On Monday, the missile component, believed to be the booster section of an S-300 interceptor, landed in an orchard near the town of Briceni in northwestern Moldova, about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from the Ukrainian border.
There were no injuries or damage as a result of the fallen missile booster.
The interceptor was likely among those launched in response to Russia’s large-scale missile assault, in which the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said it shot down 60 of 70 missiles.
The ministry said that some of the missiles took circuitous routes toward their targets.
A Ukrainian missile previously landed in Moldova in late October causing minor damage in the town of Naslavcea.
