The British Royal Air Force has dispatched its newest fighters on their first operational deployment to the Falkland Islands, reports the U.K. Ministry of Defense.
The Eurofighter Typhoons are set to take over the Falklands' quick-reaction alert duties from the Tornado F3 fighters. The Tornado aircraft are slated to return to the U.K. later this year.
The first two Typhoons have arrived at the Mount Pleasant Complex in the Falklands, with two more on the way.
