Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla., and the 325th Fighter Wing have finally begun a drawdown of F-15 fighter aircraft, reports the News Herald (Panama City, Fla.).
The move, known to be coming for about two years, is part of a wide-ranging Air Force Combat Air Force reduction plan, said base officials.
All 48 of Tyndall's F-15s are scheduled to depart from the base by Oct. 1.
