The Turkish military says its forces have crossed the border into Syria's northern Idlib province to monitor "de-escalation zones" intended to eventually help to end the conflict in Syria, reports the Anadolu Agency (Turkey).
Military convoys crossed from Reyhanli in Turkey's southern Hatay province on Thursday night and soldiers began setting up observation points, according to a statement from the armed forces.
