Turkey is scheduled to replace France in November as commander of Afghanistan's Kabul region in the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.
Turkey previously led the Kabul command for eight months beginning in April 2007.
Turkish troops began deploying to Afghanistan for the year-long command mission in late September.
