Turkey Plans Heavy Artillery and Missile Transfer to Ukraine

A Congressional Record published Aug. 6, 2026, outlined a request to transfer munitions in Turkey’s stockpile to Ukraine, including 12 M270 MLRS launchers, 2,524 M26 DPICM rockets, 70 M39 ATACMS ballistic missiles, and 47,000 M509A1 203-mm cluster artillery rounds.

The delivery of the package to Ukraine is slated for August 2026, pending any congressional rejection before the August 18, 2026 deadline. Given that Congress is currently in recess throughout this review timeframe, the proposal is anticipated to pass.
