A suicide bomber targeting police in eastern Pakistan has killed at least 26 people and wounded 58, reports the New York Times.
The bomber, riding a motorcycle, hit police officers Monday afternoon in a busy neighborhood of Lahore, the capital of Punjab province, said police.
A group of officers had been assigned to provide security against illegal construction and encroachment by vendors. At least nine of those killed were police officers.
