The U.S. government has imposed new sanctions on 13 top Venezuelan government officials, reports the Guardian (U.K.).
The measures, unveiled on Wednesday by U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, target current and former government officials, high-ranking military officers and managers of the PDVSA state oil company for alleged human-rights abuses, undermining democracy and corruption.
