President Donald Trump has failed to certify to Congress that the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen has been working to reduce civilian causalities, reports the Al-Monitor (Washington, D.C.).
The recertification was congressionally mandated under the 2018 defense authorization bill, requiring “demonstrable actions” taken by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to reduce harm to civilians and damage to civilian infrastructure.
The deadline for recertification was Feb. 9.
