Troops From U.K. To Back Up Security In British Virgin Islands After Hurricane Irma

The U.K. has deployed 500 troops to the British Virgin Islands after Hurricane Irma to stop looting, reports the Daily Express (U.K.).

The additional troops will work with 120 stationed on the islands to maintain law and order, said Defense Secretary Michael Fallon on Sunday.

"There has been a security issue there, and that's why we're now prioritizing getting armed troops in and police coming in behind them to strengthen the local police force," said Fallon.
