Activists say Syrian security forces have shelled a neighborhood in the Damascus suburb of Douma recently visited by U.N. monitors, reports the Washington Post.
Observers entered Douma Wednesday after reports of earlier attacks by security forces armed with heavy weapons, opposition activists said.
Syrian troops resumed firing while activists met with the monitors, who reportedly fled the city when shooting began.
