Troops Sent To Put Down Violence Near Bishkek

Kyrgyz troops were deployed Monday to put down ethnic violence near the capital.
A riot overnight Monday in a village near Bishkek left three people dead and 28 others injured, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.
A crowd tried to seize land from the residents of Mayevka before clashing with the locals, according to the Interior Ministry. Several houses were looted and burned down, forcing residents to flee.
