Troops OKed To Operate Radar In Afghanistan

The Czech government has agreed to send another 55 troops to Afghanistan, reports the Czech News Agency.

The additional personnel will include 15 trainers and 40 soldiers to operate two Arthur artillery-hunting radars to protect the Polish base in the eastern Ghazni province.

The Czech parliament still has to vote on the matter.

The reinforcements could deploy as soon as the latter half of 2010, said Foreign Minister Jan Kohout.

There are currently around 535 Czech troops...
