Pakistani troops clashed late Tuesday with militants after the insurgents attacked a security convoy in the Orakzai tribal agency, the Dawn (Pakistan) reports.
Six soldiers and about 40 militants were killed in the fighting, military officials said. Fifteen other troops were reported wounded.
On June 1, the army said that Orakzai had been cleared of the Taliban.
