The Lebanese army says it has killed five militants near the border with Syria, reports Reuters.
The militants were members of Al-Qaida affiliate Nusra Front, said a security source on Wednesday.
The militants killed were trying to cross between the border zone and the Lebanese town of Arsal, said an army statement. One was said to be a Syrian.
Others reportedly retreated after failing to enter Arsal, reports the Daily Star (Lebanon).
