Troops Kill Gaza Militant Near Border

Israeli troops killed a Palestinian militant and wounded three others in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday as they were attempting to emplace a bomb, Al Jazeera (Qatar) reports.

Witnesses said an Israeli tank and helicopter gunship fired at the men.

The Islamic Jihad fighters were planting explosives near the border fence, military officials said.

A spokesman for the militants said the Israeli troops crossed the border into Gaza and killed the men near the al-Bureij refugee camp.
