Troops To Join E.U. Battlegroup, Says Foreign Ministry

Estonian officials have confirmed that Estonian troops will take part in the European Union's Nordic Battlegroup in the first half of next year, reports Estonian Public Radio.

A contingent of 50 Estonian soldiers will join the Swedish-led group, which be on standby to respond to any crises for the first six months of 2011, Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet said during a meeting with his Swedish counterpart Carl Bildt in Stockholm on Monday.
