A Boko Haram attack on Nigerian troops in the northeastern Borno state on Monday led to 14 deaths, say officials, as reported by the Premium Times (Abuja).
The Monday afternoon attack was repelled by the army with the assistance of the Nigerian air force, said a military spokesman.
One soldier and 13 militants were killed in the fighting.
The terrorist group targeted the army's 119 Task Force Battalion, 8 Division, a spokesman said.
