Nigerian troops in the northeastern Borno state have defeated a militant attack on their base, reports the Daily Trust (Abuja).
On Sunday, Boko Haram militants attacked the base in Damboa in southern Borno state with more than 20 gun trucks, according to a member of a local vigilante group.
Four internally displaced persons were killed in the initial assault and another 10 were injured in subsequent fighting.
