Troops Draw Noose Tighter Around Tiger HQ

Sri Lankan troops say they are closing in on the Tamil Tiger headquarters of Kilinochchi in the northern part of the country, Agence France-Presse reports.

Multiple fronts have been opened up in the fight against the rebels, said military officials.

Five Tigers were killed in fighting in the district of Mullaittivu, near Kilinochchi, said the officials.

Meanwhile, the Tigers accused the military of killing three civilians in Mullaittivu with a claymore mine.
