Troops Caught by Abu Sayyaf Booby Trap

One Philippine soldier has been killed and at least two dozen injured by one or more improvised explosive devices planted by the Abu Sayyaf group in the southern Basilan province, reports the Mindanao Examiner.

Troops from the 13th Scout Ranger Company were on a combat reconnaissance patrol inside a captured Abu Sayyaf camp in Sumisip when a tripped land mine exploded, officials said.
