The Canadian government will keep its 200 troops with the advise and assist mission in Iraq into 2019, say officials cited by the Canadian Press.
Ottawa is also giving the mission authority to provide training for new potential partners in the Iraqi security forces and deploying a C-130J Super Hercules cargo aircraft, officials said on June 29.
The mission is expected to cost Can$371.4 million (US$281 million) over two years.
