Treaty Establishes Common Airspace For 6 Countries

Representatives from six European nations have signed a treaty in Brussels defining a common airspace for civilian and military flights, Defense News reports.
Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Switzerland signed the FABEC (Functional Airspace Block Europe Central) Treaty on Dec. 2 in an attempt to organize a borderless air traffic management system.
The treaty must be ratified in each country, a process expected to be finished by 2012.
