Australian forces are preparing to transfer control of Afghanistan's central Uruzgan province to Afghan troops, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
The government in Kabul is scheduled to announce this month the third tranche of provinces to be transferred to local control.
There is "no doubt" that parts of Uruzgan will be handed over in April, said Australian Maj. Gen. Stephen Day, commander of NATO operations in Afghanistan.
