The European Union is considering a request from Mozambique for a training mission to help the military fight a growing Islamist insurgency, reports Reuters.
On Thursday, E.U. foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said that the bloc was considering a civilian mission to help the Mozambican armed forces fight Ansar Al Sunnah in the northern Cabo Delgado province.
Mozambique first requested the assistance in September.
