Trainers Resume Nighttime Flights Following Laser Incidents

Aircraft at Vance Air Force Base, Okla., resumed night training this week for the first time since someone aimed a high-powered laser at three planes, the Air Force Times reports.

The lasers, aimed at the cockpits of the trainers on April 12 and April 15, were probably from a high-powered laser pointer or a rifle scope, said police.

The aircraft -- a T-6A Texan II and two T-38 Talons -- were at an altitude of about 1,000 feet when they were hit by the lasers, said Air Force...
