Top U.S. Officer To Visit Beijing In July

The chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff is scheduled to visit China in July, Agence France-Presse reports.

Adm. Mike Mullen will be in Beijing from July 9 to 13, said a Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman. Mullen's counterpart, Gen. Chen Bingde, was in Washington in May.

"China will promote the advancement of relations between the two military forces under the framework of China-U.S. ties," the spokesman said.
