The commander of the air force and air defense service in Belarus faces corruption charges, Interfax-AVN reports.
Maj. Gen. Igor Azarenok has been charged with accepting a large bribe from a Russian citizen, Interior Ministry officials said.
A criminal case has been opened against Azarenok and his alleged accomplice.
The commander was detained on Dec. 24, originally for abuse of office, although the charge was later changed, said officials.
