Top General Sacked Over Escalating Violence

Niger's top soldier has been fired after a wave of deadly attacks against security forces, reports Turkey's Anadolu Agency.
Lt. Gen. Ahmed Mohamed will be replaced by Brig Gen. Salifou Modi, President Mahamadou Issoufou said on Monday.
Mahamadou also dismissed the secretary-general of the defense ministry and the chief of Land Staff.
