Top General Now Faces Court-Martial Proceedings

Defense Minister A.K. Antony has signed off on a court-martial of one of the Indian army's top generals over a land scandal, reports the Indian Express.
The minister's decision overrides army chief Gen. Deepak Kapoor who sought to take administrative action against Lt. Gen. Avadesh Prakash for allegedly influencing junior officers to favor a land developer.
A second senior officer, Lt. Gen. P.K. Rath, is also set to be court-martialed, officials said.
