The Canadian military has removed its top commander in Afghanistan for an alleged inappropriate relationship with a member of Joint Task Force Afghanistan, reports the Globe and Mail (Toronto).
Brig. Gen. Daniel Menard, who commanded all Canadian troops in southern Afghanistan, was relieved of duty on May 29.
The general and the female non-commissioned officer said to be involved were both sent back to Canada while investigators probe the allegations.
