An international non-governmental organization has charged that European and Chinese timber companies have helped fund the conflict in the Central African Republic, reports the BBC.
The industry is said to have funded both sides of the conflict.
The U.K.-based Global Witness said in a report published Wednesday that the logging industry paid almost US$3.74 million in 2013 to checkpoints operated by northern Muslim Seleka rebels, reported Reuters.
