Seeking to save money, the Canadian navy has instructed its frigate crews on overseas missions not to use some of their advanced sensors, reports the Ottawa Citizen.
Though the restrictions do help reduce maintenance costs, they also limit the effectiveness of the ships, according to an evaluation by the Dept. of National Defense. The recently released report covers the period from 2008 to 2013.
