ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems Awarded Modernization Contract For German Submarines

The German Ministry of Defense has awarded ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) a major contract for modernization work on the navy’s U-31 class/Type 212A submarines. The contract, valued at EUR800 million (US$937 million) will see the overhaul of several key systems including command, weapons control and navigation.
