Throngs Greet Queen Elizabeth Carrier's Arrival In Portsmouth

Tens of thousands of Britons welcomed the Navy's Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier as she arrived Wednesday at her homeport of Portsmouth, reports the Daily Telegraph.
The 900-ft carrier entered Portsmouth Harbor at about 7:10 a.m., local time. Her arrival came after extensive preparations at the base.
Prime Minister Theresa May hailed the carrier, calling the ship a symbol of the U.K. as a "great global maritime nation," as quoted by the Press Association.
