Theft Reported Of Decommissioned Fighter Engines

The Israeli air force has acknowledged that eight jet engines were stolen from the northern Ramat David air base about three months ago, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.

The unidentified base commander said on Monday, after a court-ordered gag order was lifted, that it was likely that personnel at the facility assisted with the theft by providing information on the engines' location and base security procedures.
