Thales Wins Work For New Army Radio Program

The French defense procurement agency DGA has awarded Thales a development contract for a tactical radio program, reports the defense firm.
The initial phase of the program is covered by a 263 million euro (US$330 million) contract to develop software-defined radios for the French air force, army and navy.
The radios in the CONTACT program will be based on communication architecture standards and a new waveform developed by the European secure software-defined radio (ESSOR)...
